A movie that really describes a boy who is trying to be different from any boys. It extraornadinairy. Deeply, this movie really describes about me and my identity and my life with my family. Born in a pure Taiwanese family, and you are trying to be different from any expectation of your parents' expectation on female, it's taugh. Having gone through a life; being someone that you are not because you are doing this so you make your parents happy but one day you realize that everything you are doing for them will never satisfy them because they will never satisfy for who you are. I had doing this for so long, I was a dancer, figure skater and tennis player. But none of those things really satisfy my parents and me. I was not whom I am, I am not a type of girl who is doing figure skating, dance or tennis. I am a hockey, soccer and any other active sports. I am an active and aggressive athlete. After many years, I finally find my talents , although I could had further, I still have a chance to go as far as I can but it would be harder for me. I had gone with my guts and I had humilation and confusion, but none of those things bother me because I am happy with whom I am and I am doing what I love. Heart comes first. Now, I am a hockey player who plays for university but I never know where I will end up after this year, but all I know that I am doing what I love to do and I am being whom I am. I am proud of whom I am and where I am right now.Thursday, January 1, 2009

Summary # 3
In the past 12 weeks, I learned that leisure education helps me to gain knowledge about the real life. For instance, in one of my blogs, I wrote that I used alcohol to coped my pain and stress, but I learned that it did not do any good to me because it made me feel worst about myself and I lost a lot of friends. I learned a valuable lesson that leisure helps me to discover my true identity and teach me the skills that I will need for my future. For instance, active leisures not just help me to find my strenght and weakenesses or what I am good at, but also help me to know how to prepare myself for any changes by moving on and being positive about my future. Beside playing hockey, I can coach the minor hockey teams, I can be a physical trainer or I can be a gym teacher. As result, I appreciate leisure by opening up different options to myself to enjoy.
In addition, leisure education taught me that I can always enjoy leisure in any where and in any time as long I am motivated, freely chosen and it gives a sense of pleasure or satisfaction. For instance, leisure does not always involve in active leisure like basketball, hockey or Pin-pong, but it can involve in classroom or in a course. I really enjoyed Leisure education course taught by Steven Henle, because it allowed me to socialize, express myself and learn by having fun. The fun factor takes off the seriousness of the atmosphere, and it fosters creativity among the students. The creativity is one of the most important lesson that I gained from this class, I am able to creative with leisure, for instance, I was able to enjoy diversity presentation called Diversity Bazaar by trying out different foods and cultural equipments. I do not necessary always have to enjoy leisure in the Ice ring or in the gym but also I can enjoy leisure in different settings like classroom or at work.
Furthermore, the creativity factor changes my attitude toward leisure because I can use creativity for planing, organizing and impleting in order to promote leisure satisfaction in every area like social, active and passive leisure. For instance, in of my blogs, I wrote that I hate the public transit because the morning buses are very slow and unreliable. In next time, I will make sure that I plan ahead of time; If I cannot drive, I can stay over my friends house or asked someone to give me a lift. Thus, it reduces the intrapersonal and structural constrainsts, and this allow me to go to the games.
Moreover, it helps me to enjoy and experience different leisure. For instance, instead always spending leisure in physical activities, I can enjoy leisure in Tim Horton, watching my favor shows and playing Pin Pong. By knowing what we would like to do for different situations, it allow us to experience different kinds of leisure and gain knowledge from multiple factors like social, intellectual, physical and emotional. Finally, the blogs assignment help me to express myself and discover my weaknesses and strenghts and help me to self-reflect my decisions and opinions.
Thank you Steven Henle and T.A Jessica

Well, great! I miss my away game to Ottawa because my alarm clock did not rang, then some stupid bus drove so slow in this shinning day. The metro is just shite; i have to wait for another 4 minutes. Then the stupid 105 bus stopped in the middle of no where and told us to switched the bus.Man! If I had my own car, i would fly like a wind. I hate the public transit, they never get along with me very well. Well, that's life. Next time, I will make sure that stupid alarm clock will ring. I could had stay in my friend's house but I did not know all this bad luck will happen to me.

School is ending!
Wow! it is fast! the school will end soon. I cannot believe that half of the semester of is about to finish. I am counting the lucky one, i just finished all my paper today, and now I dont know what to do. I mean that i have to stay at Downdown for my supper, and I dont feel to go the restaurants around my home, every restaurant is so far from my home and I have to take the bus again, no way! It's been a good semester but I like the last semester better, I guess because I had two days off instead one day off. The teachers have been wonderful, I enjoyed the semester. I met new friends and new people, and I cannot believe that I actually have something to leave with me after this semester, what an experience!!! Beside that, well, I did not do much, i guess i have to study for my final exam on Dec 12. Nothing that I did, well, i mean until now. My group had been wonderful, the presentation was good but we know that we could had done better, we did good anyway. I will miss you guys! A fun class, i had never had this kind class in my life except gym in high school. I was majoring psychology in Champlain College, hell, it was intense and not enjoyable. Plus, I didn't even like Champlain very much, most my parents forced me to go there, now it did not even benefit me at all and even made it worst. I finally chose Concordia, the university I want to go and the program that I like very much. I am specializing in leisure science, and I really like a lot and I like Concordia too. I learned at the same time, I had fun. This program and this school are sooooooooooooooooooo for me.

Saturday

Well, today is my birthday and I am going to be 23 years old. Time passes very fast and I can't believe that I am on the way to be a real adult. I rarely focused on my age, I always felt that I was young and still a child. I guess my program made me feel young again because we always had fun even though we are in university. Party, laugh, jokes and group work remain me of elementary school or high school. Every time we are doing an activity, I had so much fun and I could not realize that I am in University. Before, I always thought that we have to do something that we like to do duirng our free time in order to have fun, but not now, I can still have fun anywhere as long I am motivated and it gives a sense of pleasure and it could be in a job, classsroom or in any place. Well, I do have fun in my program and I really like it. The program is really suitable for me and hopefully after I finished University, I can find a job that I love. Leisure program had taught me so much and the memory that I will never forget.

Well.......Time pass fast

Look, we have one week of school left, and we have done of things to do. However, I had a lot of fun in some of my class; I have a wonderful presentation on wednesday, my group and I faciliated a program that everyone in the class were decorating a cake. We divided people into different groups, and each group has a cake and materials to use for decoration. They can decorate all they want, it is very creative and we have a music entire time. As a faciliator, I am happy to see everyone enjoying, then I have a nice piece of cake and it is pink LOL. Then today, I have presentation for my diversity class on Taiwanese Culture. People were surprised that I did not do it on my sport and my passion which is Hockey. I think people would learn much more about me from my culture. So I brought foods, music and posters for people to taste, and also taste other people's culture foods too. There were music every where, people were dancing Calsha and I was dancing too. Even though I did not present on the sport that I love the most, I enjoyed listening to other people's passion such as soccer. There were two people presented soccer and each individual had been selected to play for professional soccer in France and Italy. Wow, it was fascinating and one of them brought medals from national team, he played for both Quebec and Team Canada, and he won a bronze, a silver and two gold medals. To be able to touch the real national Gold medals and wearing them, I felt that I was living in my dream, everyone was laughing and so do I, I had so much fun playing around with medals, it was just incredible experience and to be able to wear something I had never wear, it is just incredible!!! LOL. In addition, there is a guy brought some kind of smoking thing; it is like smoking, you suck something from a large tube thing then you breath out. If you smoked too much, you can get high. Just what happen to me, I smoked too much, I started to dance and fouling around with the soccer medals, that pathetic and funny!

Leisure lifetime lessons

Today, I came home, nothing much to do. I chilled after after a week of hell and my hockey practices are just killing me. Not a lot of sleep, stress and frustration. There is a girl that I met in the bible study, she wanted me to improve her skating ability. She is from McGill and she is doing her Master for teaching psychology. Often, her work can be stressing, I wanted to help her to enjoy her leisure but the family's politic had prevented me from doing so. I don't know..........it is just the way life should be, it sucks for some people. Constantly people underestimate you, and in fact they know nothing about you or they just very ignorant and they just want to discourage. That's constantly happening during my lifetime. I mean leisure has made me learn about myself not just my ability but also the world around me. You will never receive the perfect answer, and even though you do the right things and that's not mean you will receive the right respond. The weekend before, I went to a bible study, and I learned the most valuable lesson and it can be sad depends on you. One of the speaker had told us about his personal experience when he was doing his master. He said that when he was about 20 years old, he worked so hard to get perfect marks. He expected that if he worked hard and get perfect marks, he will have the job that he wants it. He did managed get perfect marks like he received all A in every class, but he did not receive the job he wanted. The lesson of his speech is that don't expect nothing from your life because God has plan for you. It might be hard to believe it for some of you guys but that's true, that's why there is a CoCoLa advertisment that sang about "You cannot always get what you want" I remembered that I used to laugh about that song, don't care about what he was trying to tell me. Now I do, but how I did? It is through leisure, through out my life, I love every single moment in sports. In addition, I was always a top athlete and counted as one most talent player. During high school, I won Ice hockey championship, and I was a top rugby player in Cegep which I had never played rugby before. I was a talent golfer, I never learned how to swing a ball but I still managed to be able to swing properly and hit the ball without any instruction. My dad was impressed, my golf coach told me that if I had started early, I could be the top women's golfer in the professional league. I never knew that how talent I was in sports but also never knew that the things would not go the way you want to. Frustrate as it sounds, but that's the way life is. Some people just don't appreciate what you had done and you cannot do nothing about it. I was not prepared for this, I started to use leisure as a way to escape my pain; I drank heavily during my trip to South Carolina with my Cegep colleagues. We partied every night and each one of us always got drunk at the end. I was drunk in almost every party, I was so drunk that my emotional bursts out so loud in the bathroom that I ended up waked one of the supervisor, I throw up and I could not even walk properly. I looked like a fool, and I was shame of myself. Now, after I took the bible ( as my leisure in the beginning), I am more prepared than before. You have to believe in yourself and work hard for everything you do but don't expect the result. God has plan for you, that one lesson had helped me through out my life, I can use this knowledge to deal with other things in my life. For instance, I don't know what is going to happen to me next year in hockey but all I know that I need to put an effort in every practice and improve myself as much as I can and see from there. I do not expect nothing from now and in the future, but I know what I need to do now. I never expect that I will learn such valuable lesson in a leisure where I spent the least time which is the bible study. One fact that I know wherever is going to happen to me, it's not in my control, but one thing that I know that I will not make the same mistake again.
